The recent 25th IPSA World Congress in Brisbane brought together political scientists from around the world to discuss topics under the theme 'Borders and Margins'. Over the four day conference, the world's foremost experts shared their research and debated current issues, making it difficult for the attendees to choose from the smorgasbord of sessions available each day.

One of the major highlights was the final plenary presented by Professor Cynthia Enloe, a seminal figure in the field of feminist international relations, best known for her work on gender and militarism. Titled 'Patriarchy is bigger than Donald Trump', Professor Enloe's speech received a standing ovation from the audience hanging on to her every single world.

Here at BroadAgenda, we believe that it is extremely important to keep telling these stories beyond their original forums in order to create inclusive spaces for learning and collaboration. In this spirit, we approached Professor Enloe for a permission to publish her speech from the conference, and we are honoured to be able to share it with you today.
